Aged Care

Aged care involves understanding the science of aging and the elements of professional care of the aged. This includes acquiring the skills to provide quality care for older adults in our community.

Aging well requires our investment. We need to take our future in our hands, invest in issues that will line us up for a healthy silver generation. This will require education, prevention and living a healthy life-style.When diagnosed with an illness, we need to act on the information, seek treatment and take that treatment to minimize complications. Its is not destiny that growing old is getting sick. So let us strive for a healthy ageing process and grow old gracefully.

Dementia Care

Dementia care is professional care in which the treatment goal is improvement in the function status, behavior and quality of life for an older patient with significant psychiatric  or behavioral disturbance. The disturbance is caused by mental illness, age related organic brain impairment or a physical condition.

Dementia care is delivered under the management of a clinician with specialized expertise in dementia care and a multi-disciplinary management plan. The plan covers the physical, psychological, emotional and social needs of the patient.

The care participants have a good understanding of the nature of dementia, the disordered thinking behavioral and personality changes and able to apply person-centered care approaches in managing these changes. They can carry out assessment  to establish whether the older adult has dementia and also enhance the quality of life of those with dementia.

Palliative Care

Palliative Care is about caring for people who are terminally ill as well as caring for their families. It recognizes that cure or long term control is not possible. It is concerned with the quality of life. It is patient -centered care to release pain, other symptoms and distress. The primary concern is the comfort of the patient.

Using various techniques and knowledge, a team of health care and allied health personal inclusive of chaplains and volunteers provide coordinated physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual support.

The aim of palliative care is to make the person in control of his/her treatment. It involves the family, members and friends, recognizing that they need to be prepared for the death of someone they love.

Respite Care

The need to care for the family members within the home creates great physical and emotional problems for caregivers. The caregiver, not only has the responsibility for providing care to a loved one but also has to maintain a full-time job, raise a family and manage the routine of daily living as well.

Respite Care is a service that provides short term relief or time off for people providing care to the ill, disabled, or frail older adult. This allows the family caregiver to take a break or leave home to travel abroad and to relax to avoid being burned out from continued caregiving.

Wound Management

Wound Management is no longer simply the application of dressing to an acute or chronic wound. It is the provision of an appropriate environment for healing.

A wound is a breakdown in the protective function of the skin; the loss of continuity of epithelium with or without loss of underlying connective tissue ( i.e. muscle, bone, nerves ) following injury to the skin or underlying tissues / organs caused by surgery, a blow, a cut, chemicals, etc.

We used modern practical ways that give you fast and successful results. We bring you wound management with best possible wound care treatment. Each wound heals differently and having that in mind, our way of wound care is planned according to your needs.

Testimonials

“I want to recommend Amber Villa for the meticulous care and compassion rendered to my late mum by Sister Sharon, Sister Mary and their team. Incidentally, prior to my mum's admittance to Amber Villa, Sister Sharon and her team have already cared for my mum in other similar facilities. In total, Sister Sharon and her team cared for my mum for 5 years. Putting my mum under their care was one of the best decisions I ever made.
