The Founders

Sharon Soon

​

Sharon Soon is a nurse consultant. She has 50 years of experience in nursing with both the Government and private medical/nursing institutions.

​

She is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and a Registered Mental Nurse. She has done her post graduate studies in Nursing Management. She is trained in Aged Care and Dementia Care in New Zealand. She is also an accredited Educator in Palliative Care Nursing, South Australia.

​

Sharon authored her first book on “Geriatric Care” in 2003. She wrote her second book “To Care With Passion” in 2008. Her  third book on "Aged Care " was published in 2018. Her fourth book on " Dementia Care " will soon be published this year, 2019.

​

After leaving the Government service, she moved into the private health-care sector, taking on various projects and training. She joined Assisi Hospice, Singapore from 2009-2011 to develop her skills in Palliative Care.She returned to Malaysia in 2011 and set up the Jasper Lodge Nursing Home together with Mary Lee, who shares the same passion for the care of the aged and dementia patients in our community and the terminally ill.

Mary Lee

​

Mary Lee is a nurse consultant. She has 40 years of experience in nursing, both in Malaysia and Singapore.

​

She is a Registered Nurse trained in Malaysia. She moved to Singapore after her marriage and practised as a Nurse Practitioner in various multi-disciplined medical/nursing establishments. She has 10 years’ experience in home-care and private nursing.

​

To further develop herself, she studied and obtained her Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing, University of Sydney. Mary assisted in developing a Mission Home for the Aged Sick in Singapore with the initial capacity of 6 residents to become a 224-bedded capacity Nursing Home.

​

She joined Assisi Hospice in 2007 to develop herself in Palliative Care Nursing. She then did her postgraduate studies in Palliative Care Nursing in Singapore while still working at Assisi Hospice. She was also involved with the care of the terminally ill at home.

​

In 2011, Mary went into a joint-venture with Sharon in Malaysia to set up Jasper Lodge, a nursing facility in Petaling Jaya.

​
